When I started practicing self-love in various ways – whether it is nourishing my body with clean food, taking time to sit still in meditation, practicing asana, or simply taking a day off at home to do nothing – life began feeling a little more connected to the bigger picture and a little less like an ongoing battle with myself/the world.
I’m not saying self-love will solve all problems, but it will make situations where we experience self-doubt or frustration a little less all-consuming. As someone who consistently holds myself to high standards, the fact that I choose to take moments to appreciate myself every day [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][even when I “don’t have time”] makes me feel valued and strong when I could easily feel defeated and weak.

This smoothie looks soo delicious! Chocolate and strawberries are too good together! I also love the emphasis on self-love around Valentine’s day. I love the holiday! Whether for self love or showing love for others. Self-love definitely takes some time. It’s easier to take care of myself physically (gym, food, sleep) but it’s important to work on mentally being kind and well to yourself, too!
Thanks for sharing Amber, the smoothie is most definitely delicious – let me know if you try it 🙂 You are so right – being kind to ourselves emotionally is such an important and often overlooked part of self-love. xo
