kitchen hacks for mind-body-planet health

Inhalation births millions of new cells, and with exhalation, millions expire… This is the rhythm of nature; this is the four seasons in a day. The death and life of breath; the tree exhales, and we live… Life-depleting thoughts create sourness in the body, an acidic environment… please do not give soil to these thoughts. See them; weed them from the garden of your being… Nourishment for our cellves comes from food, water, thought-feelings and breath rooted in life’s grace.

There is so much opposing information on food and health – whether the subject is snacking, home cooking, food combining, meal prep, how / what / when to eat, what the deal is with gluten and dairy, etc.

Not surprisingly, it can be really forking confusing on what we are “supposed” to do.

My abbreviated method: check in with how you’re feeling, learn from experts you trust, prioritize fresh foods if and whenever possible, check labels to avoid toxic additives [i.e. excess sugar, salt, or oils], and experiment to see what works for you without sacrificing mind-body-planet health [with room for error, of course, because #messydelicious].

Learning to take care of ourselves by considering food as a means of mind-body health via practices like preparing meals at home is an important means of getting to know your Self and your preferences, and learning more about food as a whole [for example: how to prepare it, health benefits, and so on].

Eating mostly homemade, plant-based meals as often possible is also a much more sustainable option for your body and our planet in the long run [buh-bye disposable utensils and unknown cooking oils].

It is a massive privilege to have enough food to even inquire about these topics in the first place, so I feel it is important to educate ourselves in ways that inspire us to make conscious choices for the health of our individual and collective mind, body, and planet. It is / we are all truly interconnected.

My brief IG TV videos are available to support you in cultivating your own food / meal / eating practices that are unique to your individual needs and lifestyles:

Snackin’ with Sasha | Tips and insight from my studies and personal experience. Something I didn’t include in this talk: beans are a nutritious snack, which I learned from Unique Hammond‘s Bean Protocol.

Messy Delicious Meal Inspo | I share some pantry and fridge staples to have on hand, and set you up for the best possible culinary outcome. I include some recipe ideas and templates to try for yourself.

Meal Planning + Prepping | Cooking and taking care of your Self doesn’t have to be complicated — it just takes intention and practice. A sense of humor helps too…
