This retreat is open to all levels — postural modifications will be offered if and when necessary to suit your unique needs.
As someone who celebrates my Italian lineage, I am thrilled to share this retreat in my grandparent’s home country with 10 guests in a very special setting.
During the week we will explore an in-depth approach to both fundamental and creative postures in order to cultivate a steady foundation for embodied movement practices. We’ll enjoy outdoor vinyasa-flow style classes in the mornings and inquisitive workshops in the evenings.
We will also investigate various meditation and mindfulness tools for you to access throughout the retreat, and in your daily life moving forward after our week together.
Similar to the philosophical teachings of yoga that are the backbone of the physical practice, we will have a chance to immerse ourselves in local surrounding areas by visiting ancient towns and learning more about typical Tuscan food, culture, and lifestyle.

THE FOOD
Delicious Italian meals will be mainly vegetarian — with 1-2 dinners including animal protein — featuring seasonal, locally sourced ingredients (some from Maraviglia’s organic garden!), homemade by a local chef.
Dietary preferences and food allergies will be accommodated for.
All meals at Maraviglia are included in your rate.
THE TRANSFER
Maraviglia suggests these routes:
- Renting a car to enjoy the surrounding areas at your leisure.
- Sharing or arranging your own taxi from Florence International Airport for around €170-€190 (about 65 minutes).
- Navigate yourself from your arrival city to either Arezzo or to Monte San Savino by your train route of choice. Taxis from Arezzo to the property are around €50.
- A taxi or train from Florence airport to Santa Maria Novella station > train to Arezzo > local train to Monte Saint Savino > the hosts can pick up guests from this station. Total cost is approximately €50 / about a 90-minute journey from Florence airport to their property.
THE VENUE
“Maraviglia is the family home where owner, Francesco Piattelli, spent all of his childhood. Home cooked meals with produce from the surrounding garden, an abundantly lush landscape, warm greetings from nearby neighbors, total silence… The need to create this kind of safe space led Francesco to rediscover the magic in Maraviglia… a peaceful place conducive to growth and sharing.”
THE AREA
In the nearby town of Monte San Savino, you’ll find various shops and services, supermarkets, ice cream shops (gelaterias!), bakeries, butcher shops, bicycle rentals, post office, banks, restaurants, bars, antiquarian and ceramic shops, and more.
The nearest city centers by car are Arezzo (25 min) / Siena (30 min) / Perugia and Florence (50 min) / Pisa and Rome (2 hours).

Suggested / not required. Economical options are available at Florence airport. *If any guests decide to take a group car trip and share cars, whoever attends can discuss how they will share costs.
Massage
Options: 60 minute Ayurvedic / Deep Tissue / Shiatsu for €75 CASH.
Additional excursions
For example: wine tasting, trips to local thermal baths, etc. Maraviglia can assist with booking.
Alcohol
Local bottles of wine are available for purchase at Maraviglia to enjoy with dinner.

THE POLICIES
*Deposits are non-refundable.
In case of emergency, your deposit can be held for the course of 1 year to use toward another retreat.
There will be *no refunds once final payments are made* – however in case of unexpected necessary cancellations, refunds for the remaining balance will be:
- 100% of your total balance (less the deposit) more than 30 days before the retreat start date.
- 100% of your total balance if for some reason I personally must cancel the retreat up until 30 days prior to the start date (not including airfare / car rental / other personal travel costs).
Reimbursements are not available for failure to attend, or for arriving late / leaving early.
In the unlikely case of border closures or other government-mandated conditions out of our control, 100% of the balance (less the deposit) will be refunded, and the deposit will be held for another retreat experience for 1 year.
I advise purchasing travel insurance before your trip.
