my heart runneth over

This
Sky
Where we live
Is no place
To lose your wings
So love, love
Love.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, please join me in a celebration of collective love and gratitude:

Whether we feel grounded and stable or uprooted and in limbo, there are so many things to be grateful for in the moment: shelter, our functioning physical and mental bodies, people who we love and who love us. What a gift to be alert, alive, and able.

The opportunity to learn more about each other – whether we can travel abroad or read about it or befriend someone from a different background – recognizing love as the common thread.

The fact that we have a choice to travel down a path of continual self-discovery in a [mostly] open-minded, diverse, eclectic melting-pot of a country – politics aside – and freely evolve into the human we desire to become.

Community. Family, friends, colleagues, pets. In person, online [appreciate you all so much], in our hearts. Human connection is quite literally vital – there is nothing more satisfying than a big hug or a good laugh/cry/hang out session with a loved one. Keep them close, cherish them.

Cookies. Because yum. And anything Paige bakes.

Bread [pizza!] and French butter [if you have allergies, please excuse my enthusiasm… and read this Ayurvedic perspective]. And our general ability to enjoy food.

Matcha. Seriously – to be able to enjoy a delicious, sustainably sourced, imported beverage from Japan is such an enormous privilege that I do not take for granted. If matcha isn’t your thing – it is still a huge honor to have goods from all over the world at our fingertips.

Ayurveda and ancient wisdom. All of us have had some type of knowledge passed down to us from former generations on how to take care of ourselves – from chicken soup [my grandma called it “Italian penicillin”] or Chinese herbs. How amazing to be able to apply old tricks to the new age.

Mother Earth, who provides us with everything we need without us having to ask her to do so. We are so nourished, and we have the tools to nurture her too.

Our healthy, resilient, beautiful bodies – any shape, size, length, height, weight, age, sex, gender, ethnicity. What a miracle to be human.

What else are you thankful for today and every day, whether the day feels delightful or difficult?
