There is never a “wrong” time to start practicing mindfulness, which will inherently lead to practicing sustainability in all areas of our life. The holidays offer an excellent, if challenging, platform to give it a shot.
We can begin by doing something like noticing how we’re chewing, or simply being grateful for whatever food is in front of us. We can do a few asana postures or practice “watching the breath” to keep our bodies and minds both flexible and sturdy, which preps us for being around over-stimulating family and friends. We can consider re-using bags, finding recyclable wrapping paper for gifts, or swapping physical gifts for spending time together.

Spread the health, 2016 and beyond!
