consume consciously | give compassionately

May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.

Nelson Mandela

Giving and providing for something or someone is a natural human instinct, and what better time to put this into action than during the holidays?

Just because we have the drive to care for one another, however, does not mean it is necessary to over-consume for the sake of the season.

If anything, we can simply remember to be present with ourselves and each other, because the best gift we can ever give is unconditional love and undivided attention. That being said, no one can deny the fulfillment of giving someone you love a gift you chose especially for them.

As my passion for the planet and mindfulness studies continue to develop, I have discovered some simple sustainable practices and earth-friendly products that have wonderful planetary and community initiatives.

I encourage all of us this holiday season and beyond to practice consuming consciously by putting our dollars and energy toward people, products, companies and brands that support the nourishment of our Selves, each other, and the planet.

Read this special newsletter for a few of my favorite things – perfect for gift-giving – with special discounts from yours truly [roundup includes Matchaful, LifeEquals, Sakara, Raw Guru, Ohm K, HydeJuice Beauty Organic MakeupThrive Market, and my own yoga + wellness offerings].

Get creative with ways to recycle or re-use the packaging – newspapers, mismatched ribbons, and even plants make for excellent card and wrapping resources…

Happy conscious shopping and compassionate giving!
