learning + leading

Love begets courage, moderation creates abundance and humility generates power. Courage without love is brutish. Abundance without moderation leads to over-indulgence and decay. Power without humility breeds arrogance and tyranny.

I don’t necessarily consider myself or my platform to be political, yet I am learning that being part of a community, being a participating citizen or resident of a country, and/or caring deeply about something or someone are all in and of themselves – in some way – political acts.

Mahatma Gandhi said, “Truth has drawn me into the field of politics; and I can say without the slightest hesitation, and yet in all humility, that those who say that religion has nothing to do with politics do not know what religion means.”

Whether you are religious, spiritual, agnostic, or involved in your community in any way, politics are part of your life – something I am trying to better understand and integrate myself. We vote with what we spend our dollars on, where we shop, what brands and products we support, who we choose to follow on social media, which news sources we do and don’t consume.

Ignoring this – like I have done for so long – is to ignore our connection with one another; our individual and collective values; policies and laws which grant us freedom or lack thereof.

We need each other. The planet needs us. We need leaders who can inspire, encourage, and unite – whether within the family, locally, state-wide, or globally.

We are all both the leaders and the ones being led, and we all deserve to be heard. [Vote.]

Message me for support or resources – I’m learning with you and from you along the way.

May we lead with love by connecting to our intentions [for our Selves / our community / our country / the planet], being aware of how we communicate our intentions with others, and being mindful that our actions reflect our values.

Let’s give it a shot, remembering to take good care of our Selves and each other in the process.
