tahini fig bites

I have strong feelings about the flavor combination of fig and tahini, and raw chocolate. Deep, passionate feelings.

These desserts will knock your superfood socks right off. Thanks to Paige Gregor for sharing her outrageously magical raw chocolate bar recipe – good enough to make you weep tears of tahini.

1/3 cup almond meal flour

1 tbsp ground flaxseed meal

1-2 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut

1 tbsp maca [optional]

1 tbsp raw local honey or pure maple syrup

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 pinch sea salt

1 pinch black pepper

1/8 tsp turmeric, ground

1/4 tsp cinnamon

love

instructions

If figs are very hard or refrigerated, soak in warm water for 5-10 minutes to soften before placing in food processor.

Place all ingredients in food processor and combine until consistency is dough-like [add more almond meal if too oily, add more tahini or coconut butter if too dry].

Roll into balls, rolling around in coconut shreds if desired, and place in fridge to set 20-45 minutes.

Store in fridge or freeze to keep fresh.
