strawberry rose smoothie inspired by ayurveda

Another Ayurvedic discovery: making non-veggie smoothies equally as nourishing and filling as the veggie superfood concoctions I have made in the past. This spring smoothie is a new favorite.

For something savory, try this cozy rice bowl with vegges – ready in about 20 minutes.

 

ayurvedic-inspired strawberry rose smoothie

serves 1

free of dairy, gluten, soy, refined-sugar

pictured in my favorite heart bowl by Breakfast Criminals

 

ingredients

3-5 organic strawberries

2 Tbsp kulthi protein powder from Chandika.com [optional if using oats]

1 tsp maca powder [optional]

1/4 cup gluten free whole grain rolled oats, soaked in h2o overnight or boiling water for 5 minutes [optional if using protein powder]

10-12 raw almonds, soaked overnight and peeled [sub 1 Tbsp raw sunflower seeds, soaked]

1/4 avocado

4-6 fresh mint leaves

1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

1 small squeeze lime juice

1 large pinch ground cardamom

1 pinch each ground cinnamon and sea salt

1/4 tsp rose water [sub 1/2 tsp rose petals to blend and/or garnish]

1 cup h2o or homemade almond milk [add to desired consistency]
