holiday cranberry avocado oats

I put avocado in my oatmeal and I dare you to do the same.

I used leftover cranberry sauce from Friendsgiving and Purely Elizabeth organic original ancient grain oatmeal, but you can adjust this based on your taste and what’s in your pantry.

ingredients

1/3 cup purely elizabeth organic original ancient grain oatmeal

2/3 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][i used Califia Farms]

1 tbsp almond butter [i used Woodstock Foods]

2 tbsp cranberry sauce [or fresh/dried berries/fruit of your choice]

1/4 avocado, cubed or sliced

1 tsp pure maple syrup [to taste]

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp cardamom

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/8 tsp turmeric

sea salt to taste

 

optional toppings or additions

coconut oil, nuts/seeds, tahini

 

instructions

in a small saucepan, bring unsweetened milk of choice to a boil.

gently stir in oats + reduce heat to simmer for 1-2 minutes until thick.

before removing from heat, stir in almond butter + spices
