pomegranate pistachio porridge

I encourage us to do our best to A. truly savor our meals [what a gift to have food on the table] and B. prioritize putting our dollars toward prevention [i.e. powerful plant-based ingredients] in any way we can instead of incurring potential health care costs to manage dis-eases in the long run.

ingredients
  • fresh or dried pomegranate seeds [sub unsweetened dried cranberries / raspberries / cherries / etc]
  • buckwheat flakes [sub oats or barley flakes]
  • spices of choice: cinnamon / cardamom / nutmeg / ginger / s+p [optional / to taste]
  • filtered h2o and / or unsweetened milk of choice [I prefer almond]
  • vanilla extract or powder [to taste]
  • Divya’s homemade quick-cooking ghee [sub coconut oil / vegan butter]
  • toasted unsalted pistachios, chopped [sub toasted almonds or nuts / seeds of choice]
  • love [most importantly]
  • options: drizzle with a maple syrup + tahini glaze / sprinkle with unsweetened toasted coconut flakes
instructions
  • lightly heat ghee with spices
  • stir in berries and grains of choice until coated and fragrant
  • add liquid and stir
  • cover and simmer until cooked
  • add vanilla and toppings of choice
  • serve warm and enjoy mindfully
